Age of Shadows

Blurb

When runaway gladiator Kalyssa procures a magical amulet, she steals the chance to escape the poverty-stricken desert kingdom of Bahmaris with her dying brother. The oracle has foreseen the apocalypse and the return of an ancient god set on possessing a human warlord. Kal faces an unlikely destiny—warp time and slay the Emperor Kyros, or risk Jairus’s life…and the fate of humanity.

A vicious plague has swarmed the Westerlands, transforming mankind into flesh-eating Shadowfolk, and is now heading East. The hidden tribes of vampyres, lycanthropes, and daemons are uniting, set to break the seal between the realms of nepherim and mankind. Kyros must set aside his schemes to avenge his fallen family and instead procure a mythical sword to kill the Shadow King before he resumes control of his body.

When Kyros takes Kal as his ward, they set on a course to befriend and betray each other. But as tensions brew and hard truths come to light, will they come to realise they may be fighting on the same side all along, or will ancient evils stir chaos, inviting them to duel to the death?

Who is the world's saviour and who is its ruin?

“If you're a fan of books like The Poppy War, The Iron Maiden and We Hunt the Flame, you'll love love LOVE Age of Shadows! An exhilarating and immersive story that verges on love, hope, tragedy, and loss.” (beta reader)

“I absolutely loved this book! I missed my train stop this morning reading non-stop. Couldn't put it down for 2 days straight! It was worth the eye bags, but not the heartbreak. Still crying over poor Kal and Kyros.” (beta reader)

“Move over Kal and Kyros, I need a spin-off of Prince Zale and Farrah alone! Best character in the series. So much magic and detailed worldbuilding. It is quite a long read but well worth it in the end.” (beta reader)

“Feral fem gladiators, sexy vampires, badass dragonriders, and cannibal daemons with a penchant for child sacrifices... a fantasy like no other! Think Game of Thrones meets The Witcher with a time warping twist and lots of diversity. No one is safe.” (beta reader)
